A choice baitfish pattern! I fell in love with this fly using it in Puget Sound when targeting Sea-run Cutthroat trout and juvenile salmon. Created by Seattle angler Anil Srivastava, this is a fantastic choice anytime you think fish are eating small baitfish patterns. Although the title would imply that it specifically is used to imitate Herring, I find that it words fantastically for fish eating salmon fry as well. With the bulk of the materials tied off the back part of the shank, it rarely fouls. Nothing is more frustrating when fishing baitfish patterns, then when they keep tangling. The super sharp, chemically sharpened Gamakatsu hook is top quality and corrosion resistant. I love the fact that it has a very narrow point and light wire; it just seems to penetrate really well. Fish this fly on a clear intermediate line and a non-slip loop knot for an ultra deadly presentation. Available in chartreuse and olive.
